Emigranti

Caro @robertosaviano ,

leggo il tuo articolo sul mio volo di ritorno da Venezia verso Amburgo, dopo una settimana di vacanze nella mia Italia: un sorriso amaro si apre sul mio volto.

thanks Fabio for the pic

Hamburg

Colder in Hamburg but far more snow in Tivoli (and people are much less used to it... )

I think it was in 1986 the first and last time I saw so much snow at home: check this video

A coffee while waiting to collect your luggage: only in Rome?

I was in Fiumicino Airport and I was lucky: I had to wait “only” 50 minutes to collect my baggage.

It struck me that Fiumicino is the only airport I know where you can sip a coffee while hoping to recollect your luggage.

Usually the luggage collection zone is a rapid transit area where bags wait to be picked up by their owners: well, in the main airport in Rome, my personal experience is the other way around, with owners waiting and waiting and waiting.

That’s why probably they decided to open a coffee bar in that place: it is definitely smart to create a disservice and then exploit it to make a business.

Speaking, eating, drinking

A Xmas party.

Fotografico-speciale-di-natale-tavola-imbandi-l-lsfh3f-175x1301

About 40 people.

A nice atmosphere, plenty of good food (yep, Italian...) and drinks.

No, no need to prepare games or discussion topics: words flowed effortlessly and groups of people formed naturally while staying open to welcome any newcomer.

What a difference with other cultures and other events!

Ah. Clearly the food table was the center of gravity for everybody ;)
